Charlie Kozak

Charlie Kozak is the executive vice president, chief financial officer for Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC).  Charlie is a certified public accountant and brings over 20 years of experience in finance and business operations, including more than 10 years of service with the ASRC family of companies.  Prior to joining ASRC, he was a senior manager at KPMG, LLP where he gained valuable skills in technical GAAP analysis, auditing, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

In his current role, Charlie is responsible for managing ASRC’s financial functions including financial planning and analysis, financial accounting and reporting, tax and compliance, internal controls, and treasury management.  He also provides oversight to ASRC’s information technology and internal audit functions.  In addition to managing the day-to-day financial functions, Charlie plays an integral role in the development and implementation of ASRC’s long-term strategy including supporting the Company’s diversification and growth initiatives through mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.

Charlie has developed key banking relationships; through these relationships, he has optimized ASRC’s capital structure through the use of private placement debt issuances and syndicated lines of credit.  This financing provides ASRC ample liquidity to continue its strategic diversification efforts through mergers and acquisitions and growth capital expenditures.

Charlie holds a BBA in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he previously served as an adjunct professor.  He also completed the Executive Scholar Certificate program in Finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.  He is a former board member of Special Olympics Alaska, having previously served as chairman and as a member of the executive committee.  In 2015, he was included in the Alaska Journal of Commerce’s Top Forty Under 40, recognizing the state’s top young business leaders.  Charlie was born and raised in Kodiak, Alaska and currently resides in Anchorage, Alaska with his wife Regilyn and their three kids.
